Want a good wildflower seed mix for your location?
You probably have already noticed that various seed companies have developed what they believe to be ideal mixtures for where you live.
We believe that most of the wildflower mixtures that are designated for a certain part of the country will in fact perform quite well.
However, Bob and I would like to suggest that you research what varieties are already growing in your state as this will give you an idea of what to look for in a prepared mix.
If you find that a certain seed company offers a product listing a number of your state or areas natives then you have probably found a good one to purchase.
Please be aware that in doing a search for your states wildflowers that some of the listings that you find may not be desirable in that there are species that may become extremely invasive and in the process crowd out more desirable plants.
Also a state listing may contain what are considered noxious weeds and are only on the list because of being found growing in your state.
Of course it is against the law to sow or plant undesirable or those designated as being noxious weeds.
We have composed listings of wildflowers for the following states but no list that either of us have ever viewed has been in our opinion complete and ours should not be considered as being all inclusive either.
