Best known of all climbing plants probably is one of two or three choices. I would venture a guess that Morning Glories and Clematis are certainly at the top of the list with maybe the Ivy plant coming in a distant third.
I have fond memories of morning glories at my childhood homeas my mother always planted them by sowing seed at the base of a trellis located on the back side of our home.
Still vivid in my memory are those blue Morning Glory flowers from well over half a century ago.
Climbers are perfect for unsightly areas in the garden including fences, sheds, or walls. The vivid colors and varied foliage will draw attention away from visually impacted areas.
Clematis are flowering perennials that are available in an ever increasing number of varieties, with some offerings like Jackmanii being huge in demand and sales.
Jackmanii is a purple Clematis that is a sure to bloom ornamental perennial that my wife and I enjoyed at our first home in Des Moines, Iowa in 1963.
