Vinca Ground Cover
Vinca ground covers perform wonderfully in the shade garden using various varieties of both Vinca minor and Vinca major. Both are considered as being vines and especially in the case of minor we would have to consider it being extremely refined. Vinca major though not as tame as minor is still easy to maintain and in the warmer cold hardy zones such as 6B display very good winter color. Vinca minor remains evergreen considerably farther north. Depending on where you live Vinca minor and major varieties have performed well in full sun, partial and full shade. The names minor and major refer to the mature foliage size.
