Rock Garden

The rock garden can be as simple or complex as one wants it to be in featuring the use of rocks.

Peaceful Rock Wall Garden

Or far more appealing is the use of plants and rocks placed together to form a well planned theme.

Prior to proceeding we suggest that you prepare a layout or hire a designer to develop a Rock or Alpine Garden Design. Be sure that it reflects the particular style that you have chosen.

I feel that this area of landscaping can be a beautiful addition to any well planned outdoor living area and can serve as the main focal point.

Hardscape design requires the careful selection of all elements that work together to form the overall concept of the style that you are creating.

Some of which may fall under the titles of Japanese, Alpine, Conventional, Water or several other classifications.

If the Alpine theme has been selected, then you are in for a treat. Alpine plants are, in my opinion, some of the most interesting and visually pleasing on the planet Earth.

Be sure to visit our section Rock Garden Plants for an excellent selection of horticulture wonders to choose from.

Hardy Ice Plant

Should you decide to build an Alpine Garden, the most important nugget of advice that we can offer is to take your time –do not rush- and give thought to the placement of each plant and hardscape feature.
