Astilbe

Astilbe chinensis 'Pumila'

Astilbe or False Spirea is a good choice to plant in partial shade to full sun.

However, as with many perennials where full sun is listed as an option, and you live in the south, we suggest that you provide protection from the afternoon sun.

You could consider a location under a shade tree where dappled light would offer perhaps the perfect environment.

The following varieties have proven their garden worthiness so please consider giving them a trial in your perennial bed.
